Ok so much stranger then fiction are the skies these days. The air is warming due to the coronal hole facing us and blowing solar wind at our planet, though we are not looking to get any flares or sunspots anytime soon our UV is still high. The Sun is quiet and it's energy level is at a low. We can expect normal rain storms to arise here and there, but in general, we are in for warmer weather for a while. I need to say though that the Sun recently has been changing without notice. High UV is right now our biggest problem, even with the Sun at a low energy position.
First I would like to pass a bit of information coming out of Vermont. I guess a few scientists have come together and put out a white paper, saying exactly what I have been saying for quite some time now. UV is out of control, not only UV(a) which helps our plants grow, but UV(b) and UV(c) as well. Now UV (b) & (c) are both very damaging, UV(b) is noted as causing cells to mutate, UV(c) is used as an antimicrobial in the food industry, it kills cells. The UV is extreme and the best way to shield yourself is by wearing long sleeves. pants, hats and umbrellas work as well. regardless of how hot it gets. Protect yourselves and your families from the UV.

The Sun rose this morning at about 2:45, so the Sun's rise in going to the north. It set this evening directly West. The Moon was out this morning as well and was much further south in the sky than last month. In March it reached a, recorded high (north) of 11:45 (almost high noon, the zenith) it is now back down to 10:45 (moving Southward). In comparison to the Sun, yesterday I took a Sun reading at about 12:PM and the Sun was at about 11:30 (fairly high in the sky compared to the Moon). Remember that the Moon should be within 5DEG of the Sun's path (the ecliptic), and this puts the Moon well below that range.
- The Moon is out of it's orbit, according to our perception.
- The Earth is tilting South, making the Sun rise more and more North of its historical, annual, progression.
- UV radiation is very high in all three, UV(a), UV(b), UV(c).
- UV(b) & (c) are not, historically, present in our environment in any mass quantity, now they are very extreme.
- While air is cool, the direct sun is hot.
The increase of cardiac problems are on the rise, my ol' lady is a nurse, headaches, confusion and cancer are also on the rise, quite dramatically. If this continues, this summer I would predict a huge increase of heat related deaths, cancer and cardiac arrest, as well as possible mass hysteria.
Me, I am choosing to stay as indoors as much as possible during the cloudless days. I will be watering and gardening in early morning and evening to night. Try to sleep during the days to keep under covers as extra protection. Maybe go spelunking. Swimming, hiking and other activities I will save for the cooler, cloudy, days.
This is serious! If you have read this far, it is ok to be a little scared, it is also ok to start thinking about what you will do when all these things I am saying come to fruition, and they will. I was talking to my mother earlier and we came up with a good idea. Using the outdoor garden shade fabric as a sort of sunblock. The best deal I have found for it is 50% shading $1.99/ft from a 6' roll, 60-70% shade $2.99/ft.

At least our plants will not loose their ability to green nicely, chlorophyll will help keep me healthy during this time of change. I am not sure which shade level to go with so I will start with 60%. This way it will be like having a controlled greenhouse effect on the growth. I may do one half at 50% the other at 60%. In either direction, it is a viable alternative to loosing our crops, or having lower yields. I do do have a big area to cover but not that big.
This would also allow me to be out in the garden longer on those sunny days. It also means I could completely enclose my garden, if I wanted to, in the winter with greenhouse plastic. If I were to enclose it, the fencing would cost the most. 2x4s are still cheap enough.

For those of you that live in very sunny areas, PLEASE, take heed, if you do not believe what I am saying, research these things, DO NOT take my word for anything. The more people researching this and coming to these conclusions, the stronger we are at finding ways to survive. This is not joke, this is real, and deadly. It is, though, an easily solved problem, with all of our heads thinking and sharing, we can thrive.
I will keep you up to date.
