The biggest trees on earth

pageBreak.png

California has a couple amazing National Forests. When I visited Oregon a couple years ago, my family and I spent a day traveling to the Redwood Forest because we have always wanted to go and see these massive trees.

Nothing can really prepare you for the sheer size of these trees. You can look at pictures online, but once you get up next to the trees and see them in person, that is a whole different feeling.

When you are walking around inside the forest, it is like being on another planet. Everything is massive in there. We have seen videos of the banana slugs that are there in the forest, so we kept an eye out for them because they are bigger than your hand, but we weren't lucky enough to find any of them.

When we set out on the road trip to Oregon that year, our goal was to have a family vacation that was unlike any of the others that we had. We didn't want to just go to Disneyland or any place like that. We wanted to do trip that showed us some of the cool and less touristy things.

It was cool to make memories with my family in such a magical setting. I am hoping that I can do something like this again soon and go to another one of the National Parks that are nearby. One thing I have wanted to do is to get an RV and just drive around the US to all of the National Parks like this and go to all of the delicious places to eat across the country. Maybe one day...
