Life is fragile
Everyday my wife and I go on a walk and there are flowers all over the trail we go walking on. Most of the flowers are beginning to wilt and die from the heat and lack of rain, but I think these flowers look a lot better now that they are dying.
I think these flowers have a lot more personality now that they have become homes to spiders and other insects.
For these images, I used my Canon camera with the 100mm macro lens and my Canon Speedlite. The speedlite allows me to close down the aperture to about f/11 or smaller so that I can get as much of the flower surface in focus and still be able to get a good exposure on the plant.
For this shot above, I turned off the flash and opened up to f/2.8 and focused on the dead petals and let the focus gradually fall off the further back.
I hope that you enjoyed these images. Take some time and go outside to see the beauty that is around you. It is everywhere, even in death.
