Last night, my wife and I went to Fremont Street. We try and make it out to that area of Vegas at least once while we are here. If you have never been to Fremont before, it is a street that spans a few blocks in the old section of Vegas.
Along the street, there are different casinos you can go into, like the famous Golden Nugget. There are also plenty of places you can get drinks if you are into that. Earlier in the day, we stopped at Planet 13, which is the largest cannabis dispensary in the world, and that place is going to need its own post because it was massive. While we were there, I bought some short pre roll joints. They are a sativa strain called Zelly's Gift. Zelly's Gift is a pretty complex strain that is a mixture of Afgoo x Purple Thai x Super Lemon Haze x God Bud father and a Jack Herer mother.
I was a bit nervous to have a sativa on Fremont Street because that place alone can induce anxiety, but when I was talking to the people at Planet 13, they let me know that this strain should let me relax a bit and have a good time without making me sleepy or anything. So once we got to Fremont, I sparked it up and within a couple minutes, the weed's effects came on pretty strong. I am always nervous trying out new strains because I have no idea how I will react, but the high from Zelly's Gift was pretty awesome.
I felt like my wife and I were in a movie. It was kind of a surreal feeling. Storm clouds were coming in and crazy lightning could be seen off in the distance. We didn't want to be caught out in the rain, so we decided we needed to find something to eat. By this time, my high was in full effect. Luckily I saw a White Castle just appear in front of us. I don't remember there ever being a White Castle on Fremont, so it was like this place was sent by the weed gods.
If you have never had White Castle, you really are missing out. It is the perfect stoner food. The burgers are really tiny and packaged in the cutest little boxes. I had never been inside of a White Castle restaurant, and only bought the frozen burgers from the stores, so it was a pretty cool experience to be inside of one. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle was one of my favorite movies and this whole experience was like we were in the end of the movie when they finally make it to White Castle and get to enjoy their food.
After we ate, we went back out onto Fremont Street and walked around for a couple more hours. There were so many street performers, live music and dancing going on. It was a great time. So far, this vacation has been amazing. We still have another day here and we are trying to find out what today's adventure is going to be. Vegas is a trip.
