Earlier today, I took my camera and went on a photo adventure in my backyard. There was a group of flies buzzing around and I thought it would be cool to try and get a picture of them flying. That is a lot harder than you think.
This was the best I could do trying to manually focus a fly that was buzzing around. I couldn't get close enough while it was flying to get a lock on it with auto focus, so I had to manual focus, and any movement they made (which was nonstop) would just throw it out of focus and I would usually end of losing the fly in the frame.
After I got sick of chasing flies around the backyard, I started looking for dead things that caught my eye. That is when I saw these two little flowers with the littlest spider webs on them.
I started thinking about how small the spider must have been to make these tiny webs on the flowers and then how small its prey was that it was catching in the webs. It is crazy to think of all the little things that go on without us noticing them.
It is pretty cool to see how the little webs just appear to not have any sort of rhyme or reason to them. It is like the spiders just pooped the webbing wherever it would hold and hoped that it would catch stuff. Either that or it is so delicate that it just balls up and looks like a turd instead of a nice neat looking web that other spiders make.
This picture is an example of how it just balls up like belly button lint and looks like poo. That is probably why I can never find the spiders that made these webs. They have probably moved on to somewhere else, are too embarrassed to be seen by this abomination of a web or they are dead because their web sucked so much ass they died of starvation before they became competent enough to actually make a decent web.
This last photo was me trying something cool, that didn't work out as planned. I wanted to get close up shots of the water droplets and freeze time and make it look cool, but instead, I just got soaked. I thought it would look cool to have water droplets frozen in the air but my little sprinkler is pretty dumb and doesn't spread very far, which makes a ton of water cover a small area. So, I had to get pretty close to get this shot and in doing so, my camera and me ended up getting pretty wet and I didn't get the shot that I wanted. At least all my equipment is weather sealed, so I just had to wipe it off.
