Earlier in the year, I had mentioned that my goal was to get 50k stake here before the end of the year. Well, I have almost doubled that goal with my recent power up of a bit over 26k Hive.
I sold some ETH for Hive this morning because the sub 15 cent price of Hive was too good to pass up. Some people think that it may go lower, but if it does, I may just pick up some more. I am not too worried about the low price right now because we have a lot of things in store for the blockchain.
With HF 24 coming later today, Hive will be getting its own blockchain ID and will no longer have that association with the Steem blockchain. In my opinion, that is a crucial first step for things to come.
One of the main reasons why I chose to power up and increase my holdings was to be able to curate with more weight. I curate for several projects and I like that I am able to reward great content here on the blockchain. The curation rewards are a nice bonus as well.
I held quite a bit of Tezos and you get staking rewards from that as well, but nothing can compare to the rewards you get from curation here on Hive. Curation rewards are one massive benefit to powering up your stake here. There are too many projects out there that don't really reward you for holding their tokens and you only get a return if the price goes up. Hive is one of the few projects out in crypto that offers so much utility and reward for having stake.
Well, I am gonna go ride my OneWheel for a bit and then I have some more curation to do. We only have two days left for the Hive Gaming Community Contest so make sure you get your entries in if you haven't already. There are a lot of awesome entries already, so it is gonna be tough to pick some winners.
