What you are about to read is my first time out of the house and I mean, really out of the house in a while.
The day started with me sorting out myself which meant, clearing my schedule so I could leave the house and enjoy myself without worries. This was a planned date and I was determined to make the most out of it.
Started with dealing with all of whatever was on my desk from yesterday. I haven't been that excited in a while and surely, the backache I incurred from actively doing my rounds were worth it.
Four of us turned up at Ahmed Musa event center today. The view when we went up stairs was perfect. It was quite the sight and one thing I looked forward to was the Milkshake I heard so much about.
However, I had an intense battle with the chicken...
Yes. That you see. It is as spicy as it appears. I literally choked more than once. Felt like my tongue was on fire but that was the fun. Lol. Schweppes was like fuel to the fire though. Quick advice. Do not eat pepper with soda 😂.
There is something solitude does to you. While it can be a forte and even a haven, it is a double-edged sword and it did me in. Almost two months in my house, leaving occasionally to do some work or the time I went to see Tess. Hehe. So I have to say, being in the same room with these people did me a lot of good. What else did me a lot of good? The food!
The chicken was the starter. Then the milkshake.
It was flavourful. Beautifully blended and I understood why it was so wonderfully praised. Hahaha. Then we had Shawarma. I have to say that these people know what they are doing. It was the perfect mix of sweet and salty. The chicken tenderized to the perfect degree and that sausage...filling.
Where we stayed, the air was crisp, fresh and gold. We stayed for about 6 hours there. And I am not complaining at all. In fact, it was what I needed. To be out of the house. Away from intrusive thoughts.
We talked on stupid things and meaningful things. The world has gone south but the people you surround yourself with is all that matters.
As the sun began to set, people began to arrive for a cardio class. We watched them from up stairs. I even danced to the music. Hehehe.
And for the last hurrah, as the sun dipped…
We had this smiling fish. Do you see its teeth? Leemao! It was fantastic though.
Overall, I got to do what people my age do and it was a relief. I still had to deal with work but then, I had more fun than I had in a while.
