Now... There are two questions but I am going to answer one.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS?
Honestly, wow. Prior to this contest, I had already made these calculations in my head and written them down on a paper. Lol. I always had this question sitting at the back of my head. What if I became $1M richer? Honesty is not easy sometimes but I'll write here word for word what I wrote on that paper. Mom was actually with me while I was doing this calculations and she laughed while asking me if I was expecting something. I just smiled and replied, "I just feel compelled to do it." This all happened in the second week of last month. I can have the weirdest fantasies so fantasizing about this one was like breathing air.
First and foremost, I promised my self I'd give half of it back to God. That's N388M minus N194M. I have N194M($500,000) left, this is where it begins.
I am very keen on investment, so I'm going to go into real estate very fast. I've been wanting to do that for a very long time. The investment starts as low as N500,000($1,288) to N5,000,000($12,886). I'd have to put my eye down for a legit business with acceptable interest rates.
I plan on starting with N3.5M($9,000) which leaves me with N190,500,000($490,979). But not before hiring the service of a good lawyer who'd make sure I'm not duped. I have just the right person in mind. He's not in the country right now though. He might want to do it for free considering we are friends and my money might mean nothing to him but I still might just insist on paying which would anger him, we'd fight, go our separate ways and then I'd apologize and all's good again. What a cycle😆.
When that's done, I'm going to buy me a a good house in a very good location. I don't just want to live somewhere, I want to live somewhere that has value. Houses with the best locations here in Kaduna, range from around N20M($51,546) to N50M($128,886). I wouldn't leave this city because the cost of living here is cheaper compared to the others. I and my mom always wanted something simple.

A fenced bungalow with four bedrooms and a beautiful garden. If possible a pool. Sounds impossible to access in this state but believe me that when I went window shopping that week for a house of my dreams (my loyal friend, Klein, took me around as he is into housing and survey), I saw it. It was there, surrounded by a white fence, built from red bricks and the ground was covered totally with– real and mowed to perfection– carpet grass. There was a gardener tending to the flowers when we arrived. There was a drive way made from bamboo covered in crawly(I don't know how else to explain it) flowers. There wasn't a pool but he said I could put one.
We couldn't go into the house unfortunately, but it was everything I wanted. It looked like a small American dream.
He said if my lawyer is good at bargaining then I might just get the house for N50M. And I know I will considering "my" lawyer is a really good one.
With that I am left with N140,500,000($362,113). Now, I won't buy a car. Maybe later when I know how to drive one.
The furnishing had already been done on the house. All I'd need to do is decorate to my taste. That would cost me approximately N1.5M($3,865) or lesser based on the varying prices of things and how much inflation has dealt with people. Window shopping for a furniture was awesome. I saw this beautiful gray set that literally made my heart thump.
Again, not what I saw but close enough.
Don't get me started on the beds and the wardrobes and Oh God... So much of them. I literally kept telling myself, you'll come back for all these someday.
So I'm left with N139M($358,247). I'll focus on starting something for my mother next. A Supermarket. Opening a supermarket isn't something I'll just do for the fun of it and because I have the money, a lot of planning, critical thinking and strategies must have gone into it. If it means I'll have to lower or increase budget then so be it. But I won't loose money just like that. I'd like accountability which is why, from when I had this idea or should I call it inspiration, I was making my research on everything. Just incase I actually get my hands on $1M– nothing is impossible– I don't want to be lost and end up making irrelevant decisions.
Also, that supermarket if a success after proper scrutiny, would be a great source of employment to at least 5 individuals. My friend Klein agreed with me on this and said, "it's better you start small. You and your mother have never had any experience managing big establishments. So it's a lot better to grow with the small one so you wouldn't suffer irreversible losses". I thought about it and building a mall at the early stages would spell disaster. Neither I or my mom have ever managed something that big so I'd stay small and grow from there with time and knowledge. So yeah... N5M($12,886) is enough.
Then I am left with N134M($345,360). You can guess the next thing on my bucket list. Invest into Crypto starting with amazing Hive. I have a few other things in mind like sponsoring one of my cousins who's less privileged than I am through her university but let's not dive into that. I've taken so much of your time already.
