Before I go ahead and do this I want to ask, do you think it's possible for a man who was nothing to become something and go ahead to look for his "first love" just to share his success?
If you ask me, I would say "impossi-can't". One, everyone seems to forget everything once there seems to be money and two, the men of today seem to be just after money and a submissive woman. Not a bad thing at all.
It came as a surprise to me when my first ever boyfriend (I remember writing about being disrespected by someone I was dating and also not getting back with someone who'd cheat on me, he was the only one I made that mistake with) called me or rather, found me on Telegram.
He wanted to meet up and I was wondering what for. However, I am not dumb, my subconscious knew the answer.
This ex of mine wasn't bad to me but he wasn't good either. He had a habit of taking things for granted and always never paying attention to serious matters. This bad habit extended to our relationship which fostered deep feelings of insecurity within me. When he admitted to cheating not once or twice during the course of our relationship, it broke my heart. Literally, I broke.
Anyway, two months ago, he reached out to me asking for a second chance claiming he hasn't been able to get over us and I seem to be the only person he ever had a connection with. However, this isn't the first time he's asked for a second chance. We've gotten back together three times so this would be the fourth.
One thing about my ex, he can be really manipulative. Hence, where I developed that habit from.
The night we spoke, he did what seemed to be pouring his heart out but once beaten, twice shy. Continuous and persistent is what I call him now. He can't just take a No and keeps saying that "I'm the only constant in his future". Okay, I gagged at that part.
What I'm trying to understand is what happened last night. A few days ago, I found out that he left his fraudulent lifestyle (yahoo) and went legitly into forex. I always knew he had potentials for this and advised him to use it than stealing from people but he was so arrogant that my words held no importance whatsoever.
Truth is, he told me he'd changed and was after a meaningful life but I didn't believe him. I heard from someone else and believed. My ex had this knack of getting into trouble and hurting those who loved him. This worsened when his mom died. It was painful watching him hurt himself like that and hurt me in the process so I let go and went my way for the third and final time.
When I found out that he's now big on forex and they also said something about a competition and him leading in Africa. TBH, I have no idea what any of that means and it's mumbo jumbo to me but I decided to read up on it(which I haven't done yet). The people telling me are people who've been into forex for a long time and tried getting him into it when he displayed a passion for Cryptocurrency. He was the first person I heard about Bitcoin from and he even tried to teach me to which I refused because it seemed so complicated.
I also found out that his account, when converted to Nigerian currency is...well, you won't work your whole life.
So him coming back and asking for another chance doesn't make any sense. Why me? And why now? He claims I'm his first love but would you put someone you love through what he did me?
Last night wasn't easy for me. After my friend @khaleesii went to bed because she's not been feeling well, l tried sleeping too when he called. I tried to ignore it but you can't ignore a fly. He went ahead to call my Mom.
I tried conversing with my cousin before that to tell her how I felt but all she heard was that he's now a multi-millionaire and that should be sign enough. SMH
We spoke and he went on the merry go round of him apologising and promising to do better. Seriously, I can't fathom anything. I've never felt as confused as I did yesterday. Not because I want to get back with him(that would never happen) but because It just doesn't make sense.
I decided to tone it up and asked him what he could offer me that no other guy can. Not monetarily speaking... He couldn't answer me!
I'd appreciate your comments.
