Hey music lovers of Hive, this is my first music post, and also my first three tunes Tuesday post. I learnt about the three tunes tuesday event stalking @cmplxty like 2 weeks back. I saw his Drowning In Drafts post, went in to ask about presearch, and something interesting caught my attention: He was basically giving someone, who, amazed by his posting streak, asked how he was able to keep up. He(cmplxty) gave him(the curious newbie) a tip in his comment section about a great way to stay consistent and keep their posting streak going too, and that was to engage with topic-themed day contests challenges like Monochrome Monday and Three Tunes Tuesday. If you didn’t already know, cmplxty has maybe the best posting streak you’ve seen on Hive with a nonstop posting streak of…I don’t really know, I scrolled too long to find out and you will too if you attempted. I’m one of those people whose taste and preference in music is dictated by his moods or feelings. If you know me, you can read my mood by the music I listen to. So I guess it’ll be right to say I don’t have a “type” of music I listen to? I mean, sure, I like hip-hop, but once in a while, you’ll find me listening to even music types I say I don’t like because that’s what I’m feeling at the time.

I’ll give you three cool songs I’ve been playing on repeat for the past 2 weeks. I wrote this post itself a week ago so I guess by now, I should be saying songs I’ve been playing on repeat for the past 3 weeks. I didn't post these last week not just because I was late with my entry, but because I was wondering whether or not the type of music I want to share was accepted for this challenge. Now I know. Let's see what I've got:)

James Arthur- Emily

James Arthur is not my favorite artist or anything, this song just happens to hit me really hard for some reason. It’s about his unborn daughter who he lost after his girlfriend suffered an ectopic pregnancy. He wrote the song when she got pregnant and they were expecting the baby. You want to hear this song trust me!

Santan Dave-Survivor’s Guilt

This song is from the We’re All Alone In This Together Album. Anyone that knows and listens to Dave knows that Dave is just a king when it comes to talking about life and feelings. Maybe not everyone feels like this, but for me, his songs feel exactly like they were from my thoughts. I relate heavily to the things he says in his songs. Like I can feel what he feels. Most of his songs have hidden meanings, only understandable if you’re going through what he talks about.

Even if you didn’t know Dave, or don’t like his music, listen to this one, trust me! He basically raps about the pain behind the scenes, the pain he's been through, and not being able to show love even though he's got love to give. I especially relate to this part because sometimes no matter what you do, you're unable to show the person you love how much you love them, and you keep fucking things up even when you don't mean to. You don't know how to show the love you have. You need to check this song out ASAP if you haven't, I'm telling you. He spits some hot relatable bars here. This is my go-to song for when I'm depressed or heading there lol. Unfortunately, there's no official video from himself so I'll be sharing a lyric video itself.

African Tune: Burna Boy- Last Last

I don’t what to say about this one. I’m one of those people that makes up my mind about artists and my mind never changes. Burna pulled a fast surprise on me with this song. I found myself checking his album and songs and I realized he’s a very good musician.

This song, I understand was inspired by his breakup. The opening verse of the song (E don cast, last last, na everybody go chop breakfast) translates to something like “ Finally, it has ended, and everyone will get a taste of it”. Forgive me if my translation is not 100% accurate, I’m not a native pidgin speaker. He basically meant his relationship has finally ended, and everyone’s heart will get broken. People whose hearts have been broken vibe heavily to this song.
