Hello dear connoisseurs,

today is christmas and i set off early to buy my Schweizer Knoten (Swiss knots) for the holidays. Basically, today's story continues where I left off yesterday. It's a sequel, but the Bakeries and Patisseries theme is appropriate. If you don't know the Schweizer Knoten yet, you can read my post Stressful shopping and a quick ESPRESSO to calm down from yesterday.

Imagine, I got up extra early and went to the Bakery Kasprowicz a few minutes after 9am. This time I even chose the bigger branch directly at the Ammersee, because I thought that there was more choice. When I entered the bakery I already noticed how full it was and how empty the shelves were already.

The Bakery Kasprowicz has many branches on the Ammersee and the head office is located about 20 km away on Gut Kerschlach, a monastery estate which is now run as a modern agricultural business. But this will be a story of its own, which I will tell you about later.

Of course the Schweizer Knoten were sold out again. That was the same defeat as yesterday, again too late, the Swiss Knots, which I love, will be enjoyed by others. For that, at least there should be something sweet for afternoon coffee. The choice falls on a croissant for me and a poppy seed snail for my wife.

Since I am only a few meters away from the Ammersee, I take a little walk along the Ammersee in the Kurpark where I will take you now before I unpack the croissant and the poppy seed snail.

On the 16 km long and up to 6 km wide Ammersee, four excursion steamers are in operation during the summer, which alternately moor at the different villages. Here you can see the steamer landing stage of Herrsching.

Right next to the steamer landing stage is the Hotel Seehof. This is a popular place for excursions in summer. Especially the beer garden which is located directly at the waterfront and offers a view to the other shore and in good weather also to the Alps is a popular meeting point for locals and visitors.

If you follow the shore, you will see the Kurpark Castle on the right and further ahead the sculpture The Little Mermaid with her Waller.

The sculpture was a gift from the sculptor Hilde Grotewahl from Wörthsee to the municipality of Herrsching.

On the way back you pass the castle, which was built by the painter Ludwig Scheuermann in the style of Italian noble palaces in 1888. Today it is one of Herrsching's landmarks and is used for cultural events such as concerts, art exhibitions and festivals.

If you are looking for an extraordinary location for your wedding, you can perform the wedding ceremony there and rent the castle for the following celebration. However, the year 2020 is already fully booked.

It is just 6° degrees, the sun is shining and there is no snow, otherwise it would certainly have become a Christmas story. But I hope you enjoyed this trip through the Herrschinger Kurpark.

Now we come to my poppy seed snail and croissant. As you can see on the parking receipt, I didn't lie, I was really out early.

Now the time has finally come and my wife and I enjoy a cup of coffee with a poppy seed snail and croissant.

I hope you enjoyed this little excursion, because I am now at the end of my story and remain for today with this greeting:

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday
