Yeah, compassion fatigue is a very real thing; one of the reasons I was quite content to largely dump Facebook (except for a couple of business pages I manage) for the somewhat quieter shores of Hive.

I do think people get so wrapped up in the world's "meta" problems that they completely forget to manage their own lives in the here and now...
