Fear porn and bandwagons of demagogues are why I can't stand most social media platforms these days. If they run on engagement, I mean to disengage. I have enough trouble in my personal world, the sphere of things that directly affect me here and now. I don't need people 9n the other side of the world telling me to stress out over their stuff, too. Compassion fatigue is real, and winnowing the wheat from the chaff online is exhausting. So I try to opt out entirely.
