It's interesting that you mention satisfaction @ervin-lemark, and I do believe that's a more European way of looking at things.

People often talk about those surveys that show "People from Denmark are the happiest in the world!" but I am a Danish person (even if I live in USA) and in discussing this with my family in Denmark we all more or less agree that Danes are not happy, they have a high degree of life satisfaction.
