Power, status and money never did it for me, either... and I seem to lack that "ambition gene" that seems to drive a lot of people, including many members of my family of origin who mostly think I'm a total slacker.

For the most part, I just aspire to have my bills paid and to enjoy a measure of contentment writing, creating art and futzing around with my hobbies. I show up every day to to make sure I can enjoy just that... rather than having to toil in some thankless job, working for a soulless company who sees me as little more than a cog in their wheel.

These are very strange times and I am slowly letting go of the idea that we will ever have anything but more strange times. Although I tend to often focus on things that involve "being of service," one of the things I am slowly learning is that we also need to show up for ourselves.
