RE: Grand Canyon Mish-Mash!
It's such an awesome place! Last time we went (South Rim) we had snow, rain, cloud and warm sun all within the space of a few hours. Oh, and that was in May, a few years back (pre-Covid). We used to have

Thanks! I'm not normally that "regular," and whereas it was cool to finish, it's unlikely I'll try that again! Just not that structured and disciplined.

RE: The Overton Circle... It makes more sense to me.
Ah yes, this is really how the scale makes the most sense. Reminds me of many moons ago where a presenter at a workshop pointed out how the total opposites often are right next to each other... in this

RE: Embrace The Downvote...?
Friend of mine who's a "free speech crusader" is fond of pointing out that free speech includes "the freedom to be a complete antisocial jackhead." Regardless, it still bugs me when

RE: To Alt or Not to Alt? That is the Question
Well, I have several "alt" accounts; for me it was always a question of whether they make sense. The account from which I type this is my primary commentary/lifestyle/memories blog that also

RE: #MyHiveGoals - A New Goal...HBD?
The 20% sounds very alluring, but you have to ponder whether it's sustainable. The old "rule of 72" applied here means we'd double our money every 3 1/2 years, give or take. In a world of all

RE: Moving Back Home Due to Rising Rent Prices
Our son (32) lives with us for 3-4 months, every winter... has done so for about five years. He's a "permanent seasonal" employee of a satellite city in the Seattle area, and gets "laid

RE: Hive Blog Posting Month (aka #HiveBloPoMo) starts April 1st 2022!
I'm hopeful! April tends to have fewer storms than November, and certainly no snow to weigh down branches that fall and break power lines!

I'll give it another shot... why not? Last attempt was killed by a day long power/Internet outage, but one of these days I'll make it!

RE: Plutocrat Talking (repost)
I watched this "censored" TED talk quite a few years back and admired the man for finally making sense. I've always felt that the "problem" with conventional economists and financial

RE: Two Years of Community Building: Happy 2nd Forkday, Hive!
Hive offers a lot of potential for independent game developers... perhaps not so much for the "big company" developers because we are fast and cheap... so "where's the profit?" But,

RE: Two Years of Community Building: Happy 2nd Forkday, Hive!
Yes, Hive does offer a lot of possibilities, and that's one of its strengths. After all, how do most people use the Internet? They tend to go after their interests. And when there is so much to choose

RE: Two Years of Community Building: Happy 2nd Forkday, Hive!
I'm a "veteran" of the earliest days of so-called "social blogging," dating back to the late 1990's, and Hive embodies much of the spirit and community sense of those early days...

I think a big plus was the fact that the bulk of the the people who "made the move" to the new chain were also the most active and dedicated... and so, everyone drove the community and development

Absolutely! I'm very glad to be here, and to have seen how far we have come already... and there is so much more to come, in the years ahead.

I'm glad you're here and part of the community now! The energy here during the first couple of months was pretty amazing! It almost felt like we had evacuated the population of a small planet and suddenly

I'm not discounting the possibility, by any means... I'm just not sure it's likely, while I feel that is a substantial chance that some hot layer-two game, Defi or other dApp may suddenly catch on fire
