Happy New Year! I'm right there with these past years — not just 2025 — being a protracted suckfest. I'm thinking 2018 is the last one I'd call "pretty decent." The only saving grace was the

Well, I hope your strategy works out for you; I hope Hive ends up working out for all of us, in 2026 and beyond. Happy New Year!

I do enjoy the discussions and points you bring up... and I guess the fact that so many of your posts end up with hundreds of comments speaks to the fact that people do want to talk about these issues.

Thanks @ewkaw, always appreciate your support!

Coming back around to this, I admit I had to fall back on the same "step away till I can give it the time it deserves" response. Because I tend to give interesting discussions/propositions some

TradFi is pretty much where I started out, back in the NASDAQ crazy days of tech and biotech stocks, and the infancy of online trading. It sounds interesting, but I'm mostly interested from the perspective

Been a bit thin around here, doing the "Christmas thing" so I'll just start with saying Merry Christmas, and hope you had a good one! I'll get back to something I have soapboxed on in the past

No worries! Sometimes you just have to walk away and contemplate/process for a while... do it all the time. In my case, welcome to the world of neurodivergence...

Well, count me among the people who (still) love Hive. My perspective is perhaps slightly different from most people's here in that I came in the hopes of finding a replacement for the kind of social blogging

Wow, that is such a sad loss... I always loved "Josephine," as such a low key and soulful break in the 1980s New Wave sound. Of course, can't think about Chris without a mention of "On the

I figured that was probably the case, just from spitballing inflation vs. Hive powered up.

Well said! Key success points are defined by payouts rather than fun, usability, or retention. Players arrive for profit, not enjoyment, and leave the moment returns decline. That bit particularly caught

I've always found it somewhat funny/ironic how much upmarket brands advertise last minute gifts during the holiday season... even if you're loaded, is a £100000 Mercedes really going to be an impulse item?

Thanks, as always, for these charts and analysis! Have you ever plotted the "total powered up" over time after "removing" the basic inflation? In other words, is the gradual increase

It's so sad what you have to deal with, on top of dealing with the conditions, themselves. I'm pretty familiar with the kind of situation I imagine you're dealing with from the external world... from my

In some cases, the value of stamp collections definitely do help people. I had to sell some of the most valuable items in my collection a few years ago in order to be able to live and pay my property taxes.

Yes, that is true! I know the "Postcrossing" postcard exchange project is still going strong, with almost a million active members... and I am sure there are many others!

Thanks for the support, I appreciate it!

I hope you're right! It's a hobby that has kept many millions of people interested since the late 1800s, so it would be a shame if it went away!

No, I never did find that million-dollar stamp... it's a bit like winning the lottery. Did find one in a 5-cent bin at a show once that I sold on eBay for $2,026... pretty happy with that one!
