Feliz noche amigos de Lifestyle seguimos en el proceso de que mi mamá mejore y algo que nos dijo la doctora es que debíamos tener un glucómetro para llevar un control más estricto de su azúcar en sangre ya que mi mamá es diabética hace más de 16 años pero ella la verdad no llevaba un control tan estricto con esta enfermedad pero desde que se empezó a sentir mal hace poco se está cuidando más.
Good night, Lifestyle friends. We continue with the process of getting better for my mom, and something the doctor told us is that we should get a glucometer to keep a closer control of her blood sugar, since my mom has been diabetic for over 16 years. Honestly, she didn't keep such a strict control of this disease, but since she started feeling bad recently, she's been taking better care of herself.
Así que hoy tenía que salir a hacer algunas diligencias y me fui hasta farmatodo ya que aquí en esta farmacia hace algún tiempo había visto los glucómetros y hoy quería ir a ver sus precios y poder comprar uno. Lo genial de esta farmacia es que como lo dice su nombre encontramos todo.
So today I had to run some errands, so I went to Farmatodo. I'd seen the glucometers here a while ago, and today I wanted to check out the prices and buy one. The great thing about this pharmacy is that, as its name suggests, we can find everything.
Llegué al pasillo donde están los glucómetros y tensiómetros, había una variedad de precios en los glucómetros habia unos glucómetros desde 26$, otros de 31$ y también había uno de 50$ la verdad yo no sabía cuál comprar porque no era simplemente buscar la economía sino también comprar uno que se encuentren las tiras para tomar la muestra ya que estoy todo se vende por separado.
I arrived at the aisle where the glucometers and blood pressure monitors were, there was a variety of prices for the glucometers, there were some glucometers starting at $26, others at $31 and there was also one for $50. The truth is I didn't know which one to buy because it wasn't just about looking for the economy but also buying one that had the strips to take the sample since everything is sold separately.
Y por aquí estaba viendo el precio de las tiras para poder tomar la muestra de sangre para medir la azúcar en sangre y como pueden ver estás tiras salen casi al mismo precio que el glucómetro.
And over here I was looking at the price of the strips to take the blood sample to measure blood sugar and as you can see these strips are almost the same price as the glucometer.
Al final está fue mi elección y es que es algo que necesitamos en casa, mi mamá no sabía que yo había salido a comprar esto y es que ella se estresa mucho por el dinero pero yo sinceramente estoy agradecida con todas las personas que nos han ayudado y nos han pagado las consultas médicas, han ayudado con la comida o simplemente con enviarnos algo de dinero y es que en los momentos difíciles todo esto ayuda y muchísimo y mi mamá y yo lo valoramos demasiado.
In the end, this was my choice and it's something we need at home. My mom didn't know I had gone out to buy this and she gets very stressed about money, but I'm sincerely grateful to all the people who have helped us and paid for our doctor's appointments, helped with food, or simply sent us some money. In difficult times, all of this helps a lot, and my mom and I appreciate it so much.
Luego de hacer el pago del glucómetro ví una d estas bebidas proteicas que son especiales para las personas diabéticas, cuando vuelva a esta farmacia le compraré algunas de estas bebidas a mi mamá.
After paying for the glucometer, I saw one of these protein drinks that are special for diabetics. When I return to this pharmacy, I will buy some of these drinks for my mom.
