Endless Space. A Newbie guide and playthrough. because this is one of those game that can make you time travel by spending six hours in just a few turns. HAH!.
Game Settings
SOWERS, a faction of ...robots that serve their Digital Gods. preparing the Universe for their gods eventual return. very Nier:Automata lore. my favorite faction in this game. their faction specific trait is they get -50% to food production, but 30% of the VALUE of Industry production is ADDED to food production. so we simply go pure Industry.
Turn 1
The first thing you should to is set the free scout to explore automatically.
This is done by:
1.) Click the ship icon on the right side of a system.
2.)Then Click the Fleet containing the 'Seeker'
3.) Choose the 'Auto-Explore' Command.
Open 'MICRE' System and make it produce Dust by converting 33% of Industry Output.
Open the Empire Management, and Adjust the Tax Rate so that you can get exactly +10 Dust on the next turn.
We do this to recruit a 'Hero' on the next turn. 20 Dust.
Tax Rate affects your empire and system's Approval\Happiness and Income.
Approval/Happiness affects F.I.D.S.(Food,Industry,Dust,Science) output.
Open the Academy Screen and check the available heroes, L. Amirmoez is a good 'System Hero', Expel one of the two to roll a new hero.(50 turns)
Create a New Ship and fill it with only weapons to the brim.
Select the Research Menu, and Choose N-way Fusion Plants, to unlock the Star System Improvement, Heavy Isotope Refineries. This will increase a system's Industry Output.
END YOUR TURN.
TURN 2.
Recruit L. Amirmoez in the Academy tab.
And Assign her to your Main System.
While on System View, Click the Planet MICRE 1, and choose a Planetary Exploitation.
Be sure to remove 'Industry to Dust' in the Action Queue.
Adjust the Tax Rate again to get a positive income of +1
End Your Turn.
Turn 3
Add the 'Industry to Research' to the queue, so that any Industry left over will be used. Make sure to properly set the queue order.
Press this to make all fleet in transit complete their turn, useful as we can see what systems our scout uncovers before the next turn. Then End your turn.
Our scout has found a new system.
and in it a tundra planet. perfect for us.
Select your other free fleet, a colonizer.
Then right click the Menys System to order the selected fleet to go there.
Turn 4
you can add other research to the research queue by holding down left shift and selecting other technology to unlock.
Turn 5
end of turn
our first research has been completed so we should improve our first system and build our first defense fleet, consisting of the ships we designed earlier. and we end our turn
TURN SIX
Our System Hero, L. Amirmoez leveled up. press the hero portrait to shorcut.
select the 'director 1' to get +3 labor, increase the system's production of food and industry that she is assigned with.
by clicking one of these two, you can look at the skill tree of the specific class.
Our Colonizer has reached Menys System. select the Colonizer and press the Colonize button/Action.
Select the Small Tundra to colonize it.
NOTE::
Planets having (penalty) can be colonized by the Sowers because of one of their traits, but they will have penalty to F.I.D.S. and Approval. normally you have to research the respective technology before you can colonize a planet. as Sowers once I researched the respective technology, the penalty will be removed.
Different Planets have Different F.I.D.S. yields. a Volcanic Planet will produce more Industry, an Arctic Planet will produce more Research and an Oceanic Planet will produce the most food.
Star System Improvements effect differ from Biome to Biome.
Green Text Indicates a positive trait of a given planet, while Red Text indicate a negative trait.(can be removed as a specific technology get researched)
Orange Text Indicated both a positive and negative. and Gold Text represents a 'Wonder' trait.
Note that you get a penalty to Approval the farther the colonized system to your 'Homeworld'. (can be reduced by Technology, and Approval can be increased by Star System Improvements)
Icons on top of the planet represents Strategic and Luxury Resources. Strategic Icons only reveal themselves once technology is researched.
Note:
Some System Improvements and Ship modules require strategic resources.
remember to tweak the tax rate to improve Approval Rating that in turn improve F.I.D.S. yield.
Skipping to Turn 9
because we maxed our population on this system. we are now colonizing another planet in the same system. select the planet,
and begin the colonization process, note that this will also reduce the Approval Rating of this system
To create our defense fleet, select the ...hangar icon., select the ships you want to make a fleet with and press create.
the fleet is now in orbit. press the 'Intercept Command', making this fleet intercept enemy fleet once they enter this system. the enemy fleet can't leave unless they 'retreat' from a fight.
NOTE:
There's a maximum limit on how many ships per fleet.(in this screenshot it's 2/5).
The Fist symbol represents the fleet power against enemy fleet.
The Icon with three arrows pointing in the middle represents Invasion Power, capturing other player's planet.
I will also need to Improve our Economy as Improvements and fleets cost Dust.
We can't end our turn if our Dust turns negative. so by increasing the Tax Rate, our approval ratings drops.
and so we concentrate our research to technology that increase our Approval Ratings.
Fast Forward to Turn 11
We have now revealed all the reachable systems without the use of wormwholes. Think of Wormholes as 'Early Game Protection'. OBVIOUS TIP: You should have combat fleets defending these Entrances/key star systems.
By researching this technology your fleet can now travel through wormholes.
Fast Forward to Turn 17
I have now renamed my Homeworld and renamed Menys to C-1. why C-1 you asked? it means Commerce-1 馃槅. This Star System will carry the economical weight of my empire.
and so finally at turn 52 we meet another faction. the Sheredyn Faction.
based on the fleet size and power, this is merely a scout. I will destroy it nonetheless. for I am for supremacy. so. Attack Button. Press.
You will then choose 'Targeting', 'Formation' and 'Battle Action' for each sequence of the fight, Long Range, Medium Range, and Melee. Auto means Auto Negotiation and you get a summary. Manual means you get to watch the fight. Fights in Endless Space are basically a game of numbers.
NOTE: Battle Actions can be countered by other Battle Actions.
Well. that's all for now. the next one would cover how to invade.
