Isn't it lovely to watch the sky fall into darkness? To see the blue go dark and watch the artificial light brighten up the cities. Sam let some cloud out as he puffed his cigarette. The most exciting part of his life comes alive at night when he sees the view. While he was thinking about his life, he felt sad and depressed. he has been thinking about it for so long. A jump from the tower will end it all but that would require some bravery. But such a tragedy is tagged being a coward taking the easy way out.
he took another puff gazing at the stars. then he asked himself, How is that ever an easy way out? he was terrified by his thoughts.
He needed a sign to find his way. The last couple of months have not been great. His life as been drifting through space like an asteroid heading for impact. And here he was with a choice to hit an all-time low to exit a dreadful world or continue to burn through space to settle in an asteroid belt of comfort.
But will he ever find comfort, will he find his place in this cruel world. No one knows his name at the company he works. He is that old security personnel they refused to let go out of sympathy.His body can no longer take the long hours of each day's work. Time is calling him to the end of his story.
He takes another puff hoping for a sign to take a leap or live another day. Then at exactly 9 pm, the time to make his decision. The neon light at the exit door of the tower lights up.
Good grief!
He took the last drag of his cigarette then said to the air. I guess we get to see another day, another skyline and hope the neon lights don't come up before I kick the bucket. He took one last check at the rooftop and everything was in order as he signed out to end his night shift.
