Come pick me up
I don't know what I have done

...

She hangs up

I dialled her number again but it failed to go through. Where could she be tonight I thought. I am at work having a hectic time. It is Friday and I should be relaxing. But the toll of the weeks' activity got me to lose track of time. I didn't release it was Friday as I was chasing a deadline.

Work has become my life. After dropping her call I released it was late. Everyone had gone home for the weekend or perhaps to have some fun at a club or with their family.

I could hear my breathing echo at the office. Everywhere was empty and all the lights were out except mine.

She must be in some sort of trouble to call for my help.

She goes out with her friends. Could they have left her? What was going on?

My head spinning in thought but I could not think straight. Work ... fuck!

I hasten up and dashed out of the office. Swiped my key card as I exit the building. I can only guess where she had been. Her favourite club.

Club Beta.

Empty streets beautiful at night as I drive by to the club.

her words ...

Come pick me up
I don't know what I have done

Damn!

I have told her to keep away from those friends. Now she's in trouble. I have always known she would end up in danger with the crowd she keeps.

As I approach the club I was confused. There was no chaos. Everything seemed okay. My fears were soon over. There she was by the pole looking dejected.

She smiled when she looked at me through the windshield. She walks into the car and I could smell the alcohol She on her body.
She was wasted and could not trust anyone but me.

Take me home

Her words as she drifted into sleep.

We are no longer together but she relies on me as a friend. I hope she quits this lifestyle. It is the reason we split up in the first place.
