This fifth week is very exciting and many are still consistently participating in the contest held in the Hive Learners community. This week the discussion is also interesting to discuss and very good for discussion in the weekly contest in the Hive Learners Community. And this time, we have arrived at Edition-03 which is the last Edition for this week.
This week's Edition-03 is very interesting with the theme of Social Media Evolution and here I have to discuss some of the reasons why I love Social Media and the reasons it is Bad.
For the discussion, let's look carefully.
Social media is one of the most popular communication media in this century. It is undeniable that there are pros and cons to this as a communication medium that dominates the world. Not only for communication, Social Media is also used for the most effective advertising and promotion events so that it can be conveyed to all levels of society. Social media is also a thing that comes to have both positive and negative effects, and I will discuss both positive and negative effects on Social Media.
Talking about Social Media, of course we know that there are many positive things that we get. With social media, we can interact with each other without having to meet face to face even in distant circumstances. With social media we can also make conversations and interactions more interesting than usual and not only writing, we can also send videos, voice messages, emojis, and various other features. Social media is also the media with the most interest, therefore, social media is also a business and advertising field. Advertising on social media is fairly cheap and easy without having to provide a physical location, billboards, or the like. Direct interaction with customers by streaming also makes it easier for us to shop. Especially in a pandemic that requires us to stay at home, Social Media is the main link and way for us to interact and also our place to shop for daily necessities without having to bother leaving the house.
Currently, social media is designed for various needs of users, even for uses that were previously unimaginable. Makers and providers from various social media are also competing to make updates on their products so that they are always updated with the times. You can just imagine how many activities you can do with your gadgets and those are the activities that Social Media replaces. Social media is also designed as efficiently as possible and so that it can be used as easily as possible so that every group of society can understand how to use it.
Besides the various conveniences provided by using Social Media, there are also various disadvantages that overshadow these Social Media users. Some of them are frauds that are rife by using social media to launch their actions. Social Media is a vulnerable place for various modes of fraud, especially in online refund transactions and also to transfer things like money. Not only fraud, data theft also often happens to Social Media users which sometimes makes Social Media a terrible place to store personal data or so on, even if only for administrative or verification purposes. Therefore, many software and Social Media providers have strengthened their security systems to prevent this from happening.
Errors in the software system also make the negative side of Social Media more visible. System errors such as Errors and the like do often happen to us Social Media users, these errors are also getting fixed so that users feel comfortable using Social Media. Other supporting factors such as hardware or gadgets that we use are also designed to operate for all forms of Social Media that we will use later.
