In this post, I will discuss a little about Cayenne Pepper. This chili is very popular in Indonesia, they will use it in almost everything from fruit salad, samabal, fried rice, and even fried food. This chili also has a fairly decent level of spiciness, it is very suitable for food in Indonesia which generally has a spicy taste.
This chili can also be found in various places in Indonesia and this plant is also suitable in various conditions and climates. Unlike chili in general, this chili has a variety of differences that make it more unique than other chilies.

This chili has green and red colors. Usually the red color will appear when the chili is ripe and ready to be picked, and the green color is for the young chili. The color of this chili does not affect the level of spiciness. Sometimes this chili also has an orange color which also indicates it is ripe. Maybe it's just a color pigment problem that makes it an orange color.

In terms of size, this chili has a smaller and shorter size than other types of chili. Even so, this chili is transformed into the hottest chili from other chilies. Because of that, in Indonesia, the amount of chili used is less than other chilies. In Indonesia, the price of this chili is also very cheap, and can be found even in Traditional markets.

The level of spiciness of chili plants can be measured using SHU units (Scoville Heat Units). Chili usually has SHU levels of 30,000 - 50,000 SHU. While Chili Rawit has a size of 100,000 SHU which makes Chili Rawit spicier than usual.

Chili contains capsaicin compounds, which are compounds to increase endurance and body metabolism. Of course this is very useful. Capsaicin is only found in chili, and if you consume too much chili, the side effects are also very dangerous. If you consume too much Chili like this Cayenne Pepper, you will injure your own stomach, your mouth and throat will be hot as if on fire, and you will runny nose and tears constantly.

This Cayenne Pepper plant is a short plant and can be reached easily to pick its fruit. Usually in Indonesia, they will plant this plant in their backyard, so it will be easier for them to pick it while they are cooking.
In traditional Indonesian markets, you can get some raw chilies for free if you shop, you just have to ask for some fruit and the sellers will give it to you. That's because Chili Rawit is not a rare plant in Indonesia, moreover you will see this plant in every backyard in Indonesia.

This Cabe Rawit also doesn't require special care to grow well, you just need to water it with water so they don't get dehydrated. This plant is also rarely gnawed by pests or other nuisance insects so, it is very safe to plant and we just let it grow without the need to do anything.

Maybe this is a brief discussion of the Cayenne Pepper plant, I hope you like it, see you in another post.
