Oct. 26, 22: Routine, Walking, Teaching, Quest, Pizza Event, TV, a...

Man! I could not fall asleep last night. 😭 My mind was just racing (and negative) and FitBit says I got to sleep at eleven for only half an hour short, but I know that’s straight up a lie, it was close to or after midnight, for sure, so I was at least an hour and a half short.

Not sure what to do about this…really don’t want to spend the next thirty to forty years sleeping out on the couch. Wenche bought me some earplugs, but there’s no way I’m cramming waxy shit in my ears for eight hours a day and then dealing with all the sinus pressure and earwax issues (which I already deal with) that that would cause…I think the real solution would be for her to lose weight (she didn’t used to snore) but I get to not sleep in my own bed instead.

I didn’t drag too badly, though, had teaching anyway so no time to be tired; plus, a Red Bull helped get me through. Got on with the morning routine and was happy to find the crypto markets still pumping. 💪 BTC up to about $20.5k and HIVE slowly creeping back towards $.5. ETH popped too, so I lost some against it over on Polygon (losing .6 right now…this was supposed to be fucking interest that I siphoned off to grow Solairitas and instead I still can’t even recover my initial investment. 🤬 fucking Ray).

Otherwise, just all the usual morning routine. Did a bit of curation, shifted some tokens, played a little WombPlay games and unlocked another NFT for eighty more mining power 💪, chatted on Discord, and then got to work on my post. Didn’t do too bad, got a solid thirteen hundred words for the day, and got it posted and shared.

It was nasty out, cold and raining, but I got my stuff on and headed out anyway…got to be worth a couple hardcoreness points right there.

Not a very nice day to be out for a walk at all, to be honest, and I kinda’ wussed out once the wind started blowing the rain in my eyes. Cut this one short for less than three kilometers. 😭

Got back, dried off a little, and got my lunch. I quick fired up the laptop to check the exam for the review for today and then jumped in the shower. I was doing well for a minute and was on pace to be on time, but I ended up being nearly fifteen minutes late out the door this time. 😱

I didn’t speed, though, and the drive went smoothly, so I was there with a couple minutes to spare; no problem. Like I said, we were just reviewing for the exam today and I think what? like five people actually showed up. 🤷 The exam is quite short, and not very difficult, so by the time we’d covered the examples it was only like half an hour in! 😮 I did realize that there was one type of problem I forgot to cover (could have kept them for another five minutes), but I think they’re alright. I stayed after for a little while with a student and answered questions and then headed home.

I did quite a bit of thinking about Mythix on the way home…I’m pretty much decided on keeping the colors, but I’m thinking “colorbound” or something like that maybe and one-to-one fixes a lot of the unnecessary complexity that was arising. I was actually thinking primarily about gameplay…thinking I might change the whole thing up again.

First it was going to be a 3D version of Magic or Splinterlands basically…then, it has been a Mage duel…like large battlefields where you summon monsters to fight (like Splinterlands but first person), but to be honest, I’ve kind of struggled with how exactly that would play out…I want it to be frenetic and have you sweating by the end, and there’s the issue of two people just grinding (like agreeing to be killed and then sharing the profit), both of which would be more or less fixed if it’s a rogue like. My original focus had been on the Beasts, but thinking maybe they’re less important than the character itself, like maybe it’s not so much about collecting a bunch of different Beasts but maybe focusing on buffing a couple (along with artifacts and character traits, etc.).

Also kinda’ reconsidering the notion of merging. That would drive the need to forge other cards as requirements for other cards (like a Dragon requires a Wyvyrn or something like that)…I don’t want to be too close to Splinterlands style, though, and I don’t like the idea of destroying cards (destroying the nifty Beasts you’ve summoned from the aether is mean 😛), so I’m not at all sure about that.

Anyway, the drive home was fine as well and I was back about a solid hour early. I killed a little time playing more WombPlay and watching some YouTube videos and then busted out the Quest.

Played a couple rounds of Beat Saber, completed all the Expert versions of the new Lizzo pack and tried (and failed) to have a go at an Expert+. There was a new free map on Puzzling Places, so I tried that out…holy moly! super cool! It’s a haunted house and they sound is amazing and they added more motion to the puzzle, like there’s fog that rolls through…really neat. I played the twenty-five and fifty piece versions of that puzzle and then it was about time for Wenche to get home from work so I cleaned up the dishes that were sitting in the sink.

She made us chicken and rice and salad for dinner and then I hopped over to Discord for jfuji’s book publishing event. That was way fun and the PIZZA tips and Trivia were flowing. 🤑 I even got a solo win on one for the trivia questions for three PIZZA! Did quite well for myself and staked up about thirty-five on the night. 😁

After that we watched some Murder, She Wrote for a while until switching over to Golden Girls until another fairly late bedtime.

Four stated, twenty-two actual SIM income on dShitty today. At least there was no additional shittiness…that nearly four hundred per day I should be getting seems like a distant dream…and all I’ve ever done is hodl, but I suppose that has it’s slight benefit as well.

The drunk fans expired on Rising Star and, as is the endless story, my Ego was nonzero, so switched to a lesson to get it back down. I did win some more STARBITS at the Pizza event last night, but other than that absolutely nothing interesting to say about this game.

Woah! It’s been six days already?! Time flies, and not in a good way. Anyway, the obligation falls to me once again to click and refresh, click and refresh, and then wait another six days…how fun!

Nope, nuh-uh, and nah. Didn’t play Splinterlands today and still don’t have any desire to. I guess they launched the Runi thing and got trending on OpenSea…good for them, seems people have plenty of money to throw at these guys for jpegs, but not so much to invest in a real-world project.

Claimed my SPS interest for the day and decided to keep it liquid. I’ve been staking it for the last three or four days, so time to switch. I still haven’t swapped out either SPS or the vouchers I have sitting on the market, so it’s not that, but I may need a lot of funds to buy back SOL tokens if I don’t decide to just kill it.
