Mar. 17, 21: Routine, AutomaticWin, Oculus, Napping, and Games
Looking back at today, it’s not all that impressive. All I can really point to as having accomplished is doing my post for the day. That’s a solid hour of work, and brings in some HIVE, so I suppose it’s countable. Otherwise, though, mostly a wasted day.
I woke up around five thirty, which is a lot better, but still an hour and half short on sleep. 😢 Woke up, as I have been lately, thinking about purchasing a domain and getting things started for real on the game. Ended up crashing out for several hours in the afternoon and waking up all shitty and groggy, so I didn’t get anything done on that at all. I did do some debating with myself about the economics I’d worked out...sort of backtesting the idea and seeing if it can be improved or clarified.
The morning was pretty routine. Did the faucet, some curation, all that stuff. Spent an inordinate amount of time on H-E shifting, staking, and selling tokens; that really has become unwieldy and time consuming. 😡 We seriously need a way to stake multiple tokens at once rather than having to repeat the same action over and over for tiny fractions of tokens.
Bitcoin was seeing a little spike to the upside, with a bit more volume, but I think that was mostly residual from yesterday and they’ve fallen off a cliff again.
I guess the big wigs met to try and agree on international regulations for crypto, but failed to reach an agreement...good news for crypto, at least in the sense that there won’t be any coordinated attempt to stifle it, at least not yet. They can’t stop it, but if they collude, they good make life miserable for us and drive the price down significantly. For now that’s not going to happen, so bullish news for Bitcoin.
My exchange wasn’t due up or anything, but I had a pretty good start on my steps, so I decided to head out for a #AutomaticWin.
A bit colder out this morning than it has been, below freezing, but the wind wasn’t too bad, so it was tolerable. Later on the clouds cleared out and it was quite nice.
Out just about with the sunrise this morning. Definitely feels better to be getting out and exercising on a more regular basis. Spent most of the time thinking about the math we need to go over in class tomorrow and thinking about my game stuff, like I said.
Got my post done after I got back, had a sandwich for lunch and then crash mode kicked in. Slept pretty hard for a couple hours and it took a while to recover once I got up again.
After I shook it off a little, I jacked in to the Oculus. I did another run through the AppLab Dungeon rogue-lite simulator since it said it had been updated. They’re definitely making a lot of improvements, which is cool since it was free and is only beta right now.
Went in a slammed some new high scores on Beat Saber and posted one of my solid runs on FB. That got the blood flowing even though I’m still getting crushed by the expert+ mode on these songs. The expert ones feel really good, though, and I can feel my butt swinging back and forth as I jam out. 😁🤣
Made myself some plain pasta and butter for dinner and then sat in front of the TV for a while. Like yesterday, though, I didn’t really pay any attention to what was on, just playing Splinterlands. Went to bed fairly late again, nearly nine thirty! Now if I can just shift when I get up to six or six thirty, I’d be golden.
Wow! Knock on wood, but I’ve actually had a couple days in a row without getting extra screwed on dCity, only just the regular taxes screwing! So, I suppose that’s something. Getting a penalty for my unemployment, so checked on the market to find something to put them to work, but there wasn’t anything there I was willing to spend on.
Income is still off by eight SIM...wonder where those SIM go, SIM Heaven? I know they’re not in my wallet.
Still cruisin’ on Holybread. Got all my tasks done super early. Tried my hand at a couple of the guys in front of me, and came close, but no cigar.
Still holding ninth position. I’m happy with it and loving the daily votes, but I have my eye on sixth... I don’t lose by much.
I did get another brew done on CryptoBrewmaster today. Got lucky and got another blue lager, worth like 19 CBM. Unfortunately, when I went to get my new leaderboard standing the server was under maintenance...proof of tinkering. They’ll probably remove the chance to get water, it was too good to be true.
Once again, I find myself inexplicably compelled to play Splinterlands. I guess it’s more of a drive to get something, however paltry, for playing rather than spending time on Angry Birds or whatever.
Played quite a few rounds. Was a mixed bag, win one lose one, win two lose one, but I did make some progress.
I did achieve my goal of getting into Gold II before completing my daily quest, but I got Water splinter again and just couldn’t get a Water win, so it’s still outstanding.
I was pleasantly surprised by the rewards today. Not that it was worth all that much, but cards are better than potions! Speaking of which, I think I’ve decided not to waste DEC on quest potions any more...it’s like 150 per chest and most of them are worthless. Better to get twice as many cards for that same price, get the particular ones I want, and not blow DEC on stupid potions that have essentially zero effect.
