Aug. 17, 21: AutomaticWin, DoubleDay, Oculus, Web Work, and Games
Up around five thirty this morning, but we got to bed later last night and I was about an hour and a half short. š¢ I made it through the day, though, no crashing and I didnāt even plop in front of the TV!
Did the usual morning routine. Cryptos pulling back a little right now, but weāre still looking better than we did a week or two ago. I did harvest my FIRE finally and, even though I probably should have swapped to ETH, I took the risk-on approach and went to MATICā¦I still need to make back nearly one whole ETH before Iām fully safe. š±
Got the computer fired up and sitting there staring at me earlyā¦that generally seems to be a good tactic for giving myself no good excuses. It did take me a while, but I focused (in the afternoon/evening) and got some solid web work done.
One very good thing did happen during the morning routine (although not a usual part): I went in and checked my teaching schedule for Fall and both Calc I and II were listed officially! š Put in my Blackboard course creation requests and confirmed with the new department chair. Thatās definitely a load off and Iām already getting prepared a little bit ahead of time.
Spent a whole bunch of time shifting and staking H-E tokens. Had a bit of dry powder in there and I decided to buy some SOL to get my balance back to an even ten thousand. Got some more PIZZA as well and (I didnāt realize they had staking enabled) staked them all up!
I had started with my laps pretty early, but I ended up taking it for granted working on my post and messing with tokens, so I was seriously behind on my steps with only like twelve minutes left. Took some hardcore jogging in place, but I got it legit in time! š„³
Definitely pushing my longest streaks on both #AutomaticWin and #DoubleDay! šŖ Nearly a whole month now of consecutive #DoubleDay. š š
Got my post done and shared, hit the wall, but decided to try and be at least semi-active by playing Oculus rather than sitting in front of the tube. Played some Beat Saber and got another new clear (but slowed down), played a few rounds of multiplayer survival on Drop Dead, and then did a few more solid runs on Rush. Enough to satisfy the procrastinator in me.
After that, basically some lunch and YouTube videos, and then I ran out of things to do instead of workingā¦which meant there was only one thing left to do!
I got the login working (seems to be fine as far as I can tell) which was one of the major barriers Iād been frustrated by. I think I need to do a lot more error checking than I currently am, but for now the basic functionality is coming together. It displays correctly for a user that exists, and luckily, doesnāt bork the whole page of the user doesnāt exist, just gives an empty display.
Started making progress by creating a new transfer function (since it has an input and a handler now), but itās not quite done yet because I got sidetracked. Iād seen it before and let it slide, but it had been bugging me: there was a switch statement that appeared in four or five different functionsā¦if youāre repeating code a bunch of times, thereās a better way to do it. So, I made the switch into a function itself and then refactored the others.
By then it was late, just shy of eight already, so I quit and did some marching in place watching a few episodes of the Flash to finish out the #DoubleDay before bedtime.
This time dShitty math says that ninety is ninety-six, but it works in my favor this time, so hooray?
Sounds like gerber is trying to turn it into some kind of DeFi or somethingā¦adding diesel pools. Dunno, thinking Iām unlikely to bother with any new machinations trying to give brains to this zombie. As long as I keep getting interest on my SIM, it will just pile up in my wallet and that will be about the extent of it.
Went in and got one ingredient on CryptoBrewmaster today and started another going. Basically need everything now, plowed through all of what I had stockpiled. Still havenāt made a withdrawal, been more focused on DEC and SPS.
Iām still struggling to get my Ego back down on Rising Star. Did several more lessons today, but didnāt seem to move the dial by much. I donāt feel like Iām making much progress at the moment, but I still donāt really have enough Starbits to get any more cards.
Splinterlands went pretty smoothly today.
I picked up with my win streak from yesterday and got a solid boost in the rankings.
Got up into the next tier of Gold already. Glad for another chest or two, but worried Iām rising too fast and going to get smacked down by a wicked losing streak against a bunch of rented decksā¦just you watch.
Had the short quest, three wins without neutral monsters and, despite being actually quite hard usually (force of habit to throw that Chicken on the back end), I got it done lickity split. Got a few cards and a bit of DEC:
I did finally sell some SPS, used the proceeds to get (and stake) some more PIZZA š. Been staking nearly all of it except for that one withdrawal and so I did another today. Still staked everything from the drop, but pulled off the interest from today. Hoping weāll get an upswing and Iāll likely get some more PIZZA.
