Today, I thought I would share some photos that I took recently while driving around the Loch Raven Dam area. My photos will show the area leading up to the dam, after the dam and just over a bridge that takes you over the water. I did a walk on the other side of the bridge as well which I'll be sharing in an upcoming post.
The Loch Raven Dam is located on Loch Raven Drive in Glen Arm, Maryland which is an area in Baltimore County.
This is a photo that I took as soon as we turned off of Cromwell Bridge Road onto Loch Raven Drive.
I've posted about this area before as this is close to where I live and is always a delight to visit. On this particular visit though it had just stormed and the sky was amazing looking.
Oddly though the water seemed so calm even though it had just stormed. Here are a few more photos leading up to the dam.
Once up to the dam we were able to slow down a bit to take a couple of photos. There was no parking available and in some areas they are not allowing anyone to park other than maintenance vehicles. I tried to get a photo with the name of the dam in it but, unfortunately, I didn't get the full name and there was a tree obstructing the view of the dam.
I did, however, get a few good shots of the dam in!
I think that the stormy clouds give it a kind of forlorn look! Oh well...I'll share a few more views leading up to the bridge.
At this point, I always look for deer up in the woods. There are a lot in there and it can be a little scary especially at night. I know people that have had deer jump out in front of them and had their cars totaled. At this time of day that usually doesn't happen though and it is nice to see them...but nope...no deer!
Now, we are up to bridge and my last photo!
Okay...just one more! I apologize for any blurriness in my photos as again they were taken from a vehicle that was sometimes moving. I took this last photo (I promise it's the last one) on our way out. I wasn't expecting it and it happened pretty fast so it's extra blurry...lol.
Luckily, we were able to stop in time. They jumped out of the woods but quickly turned around and disappeared back into the woods. I would've loved to get a nicer photo of them but I'm more happy that we were able to stop in time. Silly Deer...me and them! 馃槈
