Most people around me are driven by emotion and inherently I belong to that group. There are two main justifications for this. First of all I carry my ancestral heritage genetically like everyone else and everyone in my family is more or less sensitive. So I can't go beyond the hereditary tradition even if I want to. It's in my blood. Secondly, the influence of friends and my well-wishers on me. It is said that friendship does not happen if it is not like-minded and I believe it completely. So wherever I go, there is a hoop of emotion, and this emotion is a blend of love and care.
The amusing thing is that the person I spend most of the day with is more impulsive or dreamy than I am. For illustration, our wedding date was postponed by two months just so that the day would be the first day in the spring. And at that time the day after the first day of spring was Valentine's Day. It was chosen to make this special in our lives which is blend with the absolute love of spring and Valentine's Day. For the past few years, the first day of spring and Valentine's Day have been celebrated on the same day, February 14. I was supposed to write today's piece a few days ago but it didn't happen due to my busy schedule. I am writing a little later because if I do not write about this special day of our lives, there would be a remorse in my minds.
After all, it's not just about expressing our own love. I have another reason to write about it. A group of people try to review any traditional festival or day in a slightly different way, which is not at all desirable. Many people think that this is a kind of activity of a group of crazy excited people. All I want to explain is that they should think back to that the moments of rejoicing in our busy lives are not too many. So what is the harm if people consider and enjoy few special days in festive mood and share their feelings with beloved ones. Some people also try to reconcile this issue with religious sentiments. Spring Festival and Bangla new year are the few traditional celebrations we have where people of all religions come together to celebrate. Therefore, such festivals should not be entangled in the barrier of religion.
I have grown up beholding such traditional festivals in my village. It the same for my wife as well. We saw in our childhood that people were very liberal and they practiced their religion. Similarly, everyone used to celebrate our traditional festivals together. So I want my kids to grow up with our traditions in mind. I don't know why people are becoming more and more radical at the present time. I believe this difficult time will soon be over. Let more and more emotions be awakened in the minds of the people and this world become more beautiful and liberal.
