I object to the framing. Since Steem made the decision to market itself as a place where people could create and earn and do whatever they wanted, and since Hive did not choose to deal with that legacy but accepted it, of course it has a great number of people who came to work and earn and do as they wished with their earnings. No mass teaching on why to hold onto Hive ever happened, and there is no agreement coming that anyone has agreed to make. Punitive measures have driven the user base down from over a million down to a handful of thousands. KE means Krampus Coefficient ... meaning we are using the myth of a half-demon creature who beats and eats CHILDREN as a frame for determining what we shall do with members of the Hive community, each of which has the right to do what they were promised they could do. Meanwhile, the DHF has passed out MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in HBD equivalents to bigwigs who have given us a rally car in tangible results.

I do not say that there are not users who may be abusing the platform ... I think we should make sure we are not passing out rewards to AI-only creators, and also plagiarists. I think we should also encourage a certain amount of quality to receive a vote -- even though there has never been a handbook telling people what is expected, I think we can tell effort from no effort. I'm not against good curation. I'm against dehumanizing Hive's relatively few remaining users as mere "extractors." We're supposed to be a community, and "othering" PEOPLE is going to continue to kill that community.
