Yeah, I wasn't eligible for Arbitrum airdrop. But that's okay, as I nearly probably got my Metamask wallet hacked going through a video sharing a link to claiming Arbitrum airdrop.
Airdrops sometimes are a good way to get some extra money but at the same time you have to take care about hackers trying to scam people in the name of these airdrops.
Like for example, if you know about Arbitrum airdrops which seems to have caught some good attention lately. I also wanted to check if I was eligible for the airdrop while searching for related content.
I found a video on YouTube which did look to have been made through AI with the AI bot talking. A link was shared in the description wanting users to connect their Metamask or other wallet.
The video also shows a Tweet from Vitalik Buterin.
Check Vitalik Buterin's official Twitter account and couldn't find the same tweet as was shown in the video.
Users have to be cautious about these different links which asks you of connecting your wallets because you might get scammed.
Always try to look official websites about any sort of announcement in order to avoid any possible scam.
I checked my eligibility on Arbitrum's official website and found that I wasn't eligible for the airdrop.
After all, I was lucky to save myself from a possible scam.
