Cristiano Ronaldo is my favorite football (soccer) player from all times. Many people judge him by the fact that he is very rich at this point. It wasn't always like this. He grew up in a poor house in Madeira, Portugal and he shared his bedroom with his brother and two sisters. When he was 14, he was expelled from school, according to The Guardian. The reason? He did not take a professor's jokes about the financial situation of his family and threw a chair in it. He did not have toys, nor did he ever receive Christmas gifts in his childhood, something he himself recognized.
His ambition, talent and hard work have rewarded Cristiano Ronaldo because now he is a professional football player and he is battling Messi (Argentina) for the title of the best player in the world. Other football players are retiring after the age of 30 but Ronaldo is a legend. He is turning 33 today but he is still in an amazing shape and condition to play football. He plays for Real Madrid club where he owes the title of Real Madrid all-time top goalscorer: 427 goals. Isn't he great?
Happy Birthday, Cristiano Ronaldo!
