The World Health Organization (WHO) debunked myths on COVID-19 which most of our family members (esp. our elderlies) believe to be true. Here are some of these myths circulating online:
- Adding pepper to your soup or other meals DOES NOT prevent or cure COVID-19;
- COVID-19 IS NOT transmitted through houseflies;
- The new coronavirus CANNOT be transmitted through mosquito bites;
- Ultra-violet (UV) lamps should not be used to disinfect hands or other areas of your skin;
- Taking a hot bath does not prevent the new coronavirus disease;
- Drinking methanol, ethanol or bleach DOES NOT prevent or cure COVID-19 and can be extremely dangerous;
- Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from the new coronavirus.
The 'ethyl' in the image should be ethanol ヽ(ヅ)ノ but I decided to just keep it because some are actually drinking ethyl alcohol which is really NOT a cure for the virus.
I drew digital artworks to ease the sadness and anxiety brought upon by the pandemic. I upload my artworks on munimuni.space/artworks/debi.
