If you're tired of comparing with others, I get you.
I tried to stop comparing with other. I failed to do so again and again.
Then, I come up to a conclusion. There are two groups of people in this world:
People who are content don’t compare, or they don’t do that as frequent.
People who always want more can’t stop comparing, but that’s also why they demand more, do more, and accomplish more.
If you’re the second group here, don’t STOP comparing.
Instead, change your response after comparing. Instead of feeling envy about the other person or beating yourself up for what you don’t have, give compliments to the other person, offer helps, and take action to make yourself better.
As a writer, I compare myself to many successful writer and blogger. I compare myself with James Clear, Mark Manson, Ryan Holiday. I also compare myself to many writers on Medium and Quora.
Instead of seeing these amazing people as competitors, I see them as my teacher. I observe what they do and how they write as a reference to navigate my writing and career.
One critical thing to make clear is that you are not anyone you’re comparing to. And you will never be. Everyone has a different path. Compare to learn, then be yourself.
