I'm talking about care less, not careless.
When I was reading a leadership book — The Virgin Way by Sir Richard Branson, I didn’t just learn about building a business and becoming a better leader.
But I was wondering about parenting and life. (Not sure how my mind wandered here, but it happened.)
Then, I make a promise to myself this:
The one and only thing I want my kids to learn is to fully enjoy any moment in life and care less about other things.
Such as:
Others’ opinions. Have your own stand, and stand firm.
Instant result. I’m sure Sir Richard Branson faced tons of challenges in his entrepreneurial journey just like many others do. But one of the many reasons he succeeded is that he sees the money as the byproduct of the happiness of his employees and his customers.
Comparison. When you truly enjoy what you’re doing and happy with who you’re as a person, you simply don’t give a damn to compare yourself to anyone else.
I’m not saying you should care less of everything and give up on life, but care less on unimportant, external mess that you don’t need in life, focus on what makes you a human instead.
I don’t have any kid right now, I guess I should teach myself first.
