So, I've posted occasionally before about how I'm a bit of a loser due to my addiction to vinyl and cardboard in the form of Funko Pops. I've been collecting that line of toy for the last 4 years now, but over the last year I've really gotten into Funko's newest line that has taken off, Funko Soda's. These are similar to pops, but fairly different at the same time. And, honestly, I think they've become my favorite thing to collect at this current point. Probably because I jerk off over anything that's very limited, and that's the big selling point of these Soda figures: Every single one is limited to a certain amount. And, most of all of the Soda figures have a even more limited chase figure available to pull, which is another big driving force behind them. (The chase is either a different mold, paint job or special effect added to the toy. The pull rate is 1:6, meaning you have to order a full case of Soda's for a guaranteed chance.)
The piece counts vary a lot depending on the soda. There are some Soda figures that have a 3000 piece count, and others that have a 20000 piece count. Obviously, the more limited the figure the more pricey it is on the secondary market, especially the chase. (Though, there are other factors as well like if it has a really cool glow, or other effects like black light.) There are some of these chase figures that go for $500-1000 on the second market, while others you can get a chase for as low as $30-40. So, you can probably tell from that description that if you don't score the figure you want, you'll end up having to whore out a kidney on the black market to be able to afford them. Which is why I'm here today, with 5 soda's that I scored from Funko directly before they upped the price and really began to butt fuck their customers wallets.
What I'm opening today is a character from Scooby Doo, called the Spooky Space Kook. This piece is limited to 7500, and has a glow in the dark chase. I don't really have an ultra omega love for Scooby Doo, but, I did grow up watching it and it has a bit of nostalgia in my heart. Combine that with this figure having a cool glow which I simp for, and I just had to milk myself in front of a webcam for money to fund my addiction. I didn't wanna shell out the full amount for an entire case, so I just ended up picking up 5 of these bad boys. After a 10 percent discount code, I ended up paying $54 for these. So, you can see how it's pretty fucking hard to collect in this hobby unless you're an oiler. (And, that was before they raised the price on these by $3 a piece on the 1st of Nov.)
So, lets see what I pulled :)
SPOILERS PUSSY
I PULLED THE CHASE. However, my luck continues to find ways to be shitty and I got a defective chase that doesn't glow correctly. It's supposed to have a red/orange skull and somehow mine glows purple like that kid from willy wonka. No idea why, but, whatever I guess. At least I don't have to spend $150+ on the second market for the chase, so it's a fucking win babyyyyyyyyyyy. Here's a picture of what my chase looks like when it glows, while it is defective I still think it looks pretty cool so I can't be shitting and pissing in my pants too hard.
But, yeah, I'll probably do more short videos like this in the future, as even making a bit of money from posting these helps ease the burn that my wallet has from buying this stuff. I'd like to make a big extravaganza type video where I have like 25 cans of different characters to open, but, I'd probably need to be making some fat youtube dollar bills to do something like that with the current prices on things. Anyways.
Until next time, doods!
Later!
