I was tracking the coin a few days ago and apparently, it's a great coin with an amazing value!
This project called Sia allows anyone store data in decentralized cloud backend. But what makes it so interesting?... The reason it's simple. Sia is trying to disrupt Dropbox and Amazon S3.
Like you can imagine, disrupting this 2 players is not an easy task. Maybe some of you are thinking that Dropbox and Amazon S3 is something almost impossible... Well, Ethereum has been literally changing the internet as we know it and I am sure that many more companies are at this exact moment studying the blockchain concepts to understand how they can create new and better solutions!
Ok. Now you are probably asking what the idea behind Sia. The idea is "simple". The main objective of Sia is that instead of everything being essentially hosted on central servers, Sia's blockchain technology will decentralize file storage and make it open source.
How does this work? In the most simple way, Sia splits apart, encrypts, and distributes your files across a decentralized network. This could in theory drastically reduce hosting and storage costs, and most likely will.
I'm pretty excited about this because this could be the beginning of the "hosting of the future" in which it's not truly based or entirely reliant on central servers anymore.
About Siacoin. This coin looks quite promising to me and I truly believe in the project.
