This is not something you will see every day! Timed with the premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water, let's head to Hollywood to not only search for the Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR, but to find Shmee150 riding in the passenger seat with the craziest reactions on Hollywood Boulevard!
Created following the first Avatar movie, the Mercedes Vision AVTR is a concept straight from the future; with no steering wheel, a design inspired by nature and Avatar the movie, it moves sideways with a control pad in the centre and more. The partnership from Mercedes and Disney was to create a concept that would bring together humans, machine and nature, and there are signs of this throughout.
Having heard that the car was in Hollywood, Shmee150 jump into my Mercedes AMG GT Black Series from Orange County for the drive up to see if we can find it. Having been lucky to join Mercedes for a first drive in this very same machine back in summer 2020, Shmee150 is excited to see the same car on another continent. This time however, is without prior arrangement but upon arrival it becomes apparent where the car is being prepared at a hotel ahead of driving along the famous road.
Not only that though, the very kind team invited Shmee150 to take a seat onboard for a short stretch of the road, and to experience the reactions from the crowds of people lining Hollywood Boulevard! What an exciting time for such a unique machine, all connected to the launch this week of the new Avatar: The Way of Water movie.
