I'm a new user and do not have much experience, however I have studied a lot about Steemit. For some days, I have been trying to update my Profile by correctly filling all the required fields under "Settings." But, it has been difficult to do so prompting me to believe there must be an internal system errors at Steemit end.
Ok. Let me describe how this is so. Once you fill in the profile url, cover url, and others, you click on the "Update" button. This action prompts you to re-login. Active or Owner is required to update. If you use your Active Keys, you get a notification that you cannot use a public key to sign in. It asks for Private Keys instead.
When you use your private keys, it allows you to sign in. However, you get an error notification immediately that you have not signed in with a valid Active keys and your settings are not updated. Also, when you click "Permission" and move to "Active key" you will see "Login to show" in front. If you click on it, you're prompted to login with your private key. although you get in, the active key remains the same. No change.
As far as I know, the active key should allow you to update your profile with your picture and everything that has to do with your public profile settings. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I'm not able to do it and I doubt if any new users have been able to do so. If you have been able to set up your profile, kindly share your experience in the comment section. I have to make this post with the believe that it could help other new users out there too who are facing similar challenge.
