If you do not know, August 9 is "International Day of the World's Indigenous People". It is a day that we honor all the Indigenous peoples of the world. It is a day that we take time to say thank you, it is a day that we remember we should be actively fighting for their rights and, doing what we can lift up our brothers and sisters.

There are over 476 million indigenous peoples living in 90 countries across the world, accounting for 6.2 per cent of the global population. Indigenous peoples are the holders of a vast diversity of unique cultures, traditions, languages and knowledge systems. - Source.

Indigenous peoples contribution to our modern society is vast and sometimes underappreciated. Many times when explorers were hungry they fed them. Many times when adventures were lost, indigenous people guided them to safety. Today is about bring more awareness to the various indigenous people around the world, and promoting a social system in which has economic benefits for all people, indigenous and non-indigenous.

This brings us today's challenge!

Let's spread the word about the indigenous peoples day, Help raise the awareness. We can do so by Sharing a link to the UN's page talking about what this day is about, And simply saying thank.
