Happy National Different Colored Eyes Day! Did you know that it's national different colored eyes day? The day we acknowledge people who have different colored eyes. Having multicolored eyes is more scientifically referred to as heterochromia iridum.
In modern times those who have heterochromia iridum are considered unique and pretty. Even some pet owners prefer animals who have multicolored eyes. Throughout history however there has been mixed feelings about people who have different irises. Native Americans called these ghost eyes and thought the person could see heaven and earth, and consider them ghastly. Included ridiculous long-held beliefs that people with multicolored eyes were witches!
In our modern society we embrace the uniqueness of our sisters and brothers around the world. Multicolored skin, eyes, hair, beliefs, and more we embraces as a society. People are unique inherently and, this should be celebrated.
And that brings us to today's challenge!
