Hello all you wonderful people!
June 20 was Father's Day. Without fathers the majority of us would not be here, and we like to be here... so it is time to celebrate fathers and Father's Day this week.
The tradition of Father's Day started in the state of Washington on June 19, 1910. This was 58 after president Woodrow Wilson made Mother's Day an official holiday, and then that inspired the Father's Day holiday shortly (58 years shortly) after. It's really an interesting story that Father's Day was not as widely welcomed as Mother's Day (* mainly because Mother's Day people went shopping for flowers and gifts for their mom, and not as much on Father's Day). You can actually read the full history on this website HERE.
Whatever the reasons why we now celebrate Father's Day let's do it!
There are many different challenges that we can do for Father's Day, some of them are very funny! However, last week was a rather difficult challenge ( Donating Blood ), this week let's be a little bit more light-hearted.
Introducing the "Dad Tee" challenge. All you have to do is take a picture of yourself wearing something, on someplace that says, "dad" on it(*or a variation spelling of dad). Some ideas for a "dad tee" are shirts, sweatshirts, or even bandanas. If you don't have any of these you can even get more creative, write "dad" on a piece of fruit and hang it around your neck on a string, or glue macaroni onto an old tee you dont need.
However creative you get the "Dad Tee" challenge is live, participate for your chance to WIN 15 $HIVE!
This week challenge is to take a photo of yourself wearing something with the word DAD,or variation of that spelling / sentiment on it. Feel free to be as creative or clever as you wish!!
