What's the Buzz Today Fam?
Bakers are like gods--confectionery gods--bringing us delicious, chocolatey, yummy treats. Without bakers, the world would be nothing but sad coffee, without the means to dip into the goodness. Bakers are the demi-gods of confections, the creators, the enablers of all our sweet, sweet fantasies.
Today, believe it or not, today is "World Baking Day" Source.
Baking is an ancient art, dating back more than 14,000 years. The first grain breads were baked in the Middle Ages, when those using ovens in their homes became professional Bakers. The baking industry thrived in the late 1800s as a result of increased industrialisation and the technological innovations that became available as a result of war during the WWI and WWII periods.
There many ways to celebrate this delightful holiday. From baking yourself something delicious like brownies, cakes, or bread. Or if you're like us over here at the office, we can't bake all that well, so head down to your local bakery and buy some artesian bread and support your local baker.
If your fan and follower of our Monday challenges, you know we don't do things for one day when we like then, no no no, we do them for 7 days, AND that brings us to our challenge for this week!
Let's honor that baking goodness. For this week's challenge we would like you to go out there and bake something, or go support your local bakery and buy some sort of confectionery goodness, then post the photo of it and brief message about why you like that baked / bakery item on D.Buzz. If you are gluten intolerant, or you just do not have a local bakery, not a problem at all. You can also submit a sort story or poem or drawing about baking or the products of a bakery.
