To be honest, mornings are not always my favorite part of the day. I try, but sometimes it feels like my bed has more power than my alarm clock. I’ll be honest I’m that person that snoozes the alarm like three times before finally getting up. I always tell myself “five more minutes,” but those five minutes somehow turn into twenty.
Once I manage to get up, the first thing I do is just sit on the bed for a while, trying to remember what day it is. My brain no dey start fast in the morning. Some people wake up and start doing devotion or jumping into workouts me, I just want a few minutes of silence to think and breathe before the rush begins.
If I’m not too lazy but not all times, I say a short prayer, thanking God for another day, because waking up alone is already a blessing. After that, I go straight to brush and clean up. Then I drink water, sometimes tea if I get time. Food in the morning? Hmm, not always. Most times I just grab a small snack and move.
Before stepping out or opening my laptop, I like to check Hive I scroll through a few posts, maybe drop a comment or read something motivating. It just gives me a sense of calm and focus before the day ahead going to gets busy. Sometimes I even play a soft song in the background while preparing.
There are days when everything goes smoothly I wake early, plan my to-do list which is the most important in my day schedule and I feel productive all day. But there are also days I just drag myself through, one task after another. And honestly, that’s okay too.
I’ve learned that mornings don’t have to be perfect. What matters most is finding what works for you, something that keeps your spirit light and your mind ready for the day.
Because truly, how you start your morning sets the rhythm for everything else that follows.
