We decided to launch a new weekly report in collaboration with our LMs. The objective is to emphasize the progress and the features of the projects we are translating. Every week, one of our LMs will write a brief paragraph describing one of the projects that we are translating but with a personal touch. In fact, we encourage our LM to personalize the paragraph by adding thoughts, opinions and feedbacks about the project.

Please vote the post generously because half of the total reward of this post will go to the language manager that wrote the review.

The Curious Expedition

The Curious Expedition is a roguelike expedition simulation set in the 19th century. I think it's a very fun game and I had the opportunity to work on it in their official Crowdin project in the Translation category as a proofreader for the Italian Language. I love this project because the game is based on 80s graphics but the great thing is that it allows the character to live a multitude of adventures exploring searching for treasures, for example. Many famous personalities of the past can be chosen and

you will venture on unprecedented expeditions to regions never explored before for fame, science and treasures.

This is awesome; it seems like playing on some Jules Verne's adventures, where fantasy, story, truth, adventure are mixed in some kind of magic.

I would like to say thank you to @filippocrypto; he did a great job, working as a translator for the Italian Team. His attitude, his passion, his skills are always very strong and I’m really glad to work with him.

Working as a proofreader, I had the chance to learn about what happens “behind the scenes” in this project. My hope is that because of our work, the Italian community will be playing this game.

It’s incredible how many people are needed to make something possible and available, and Crowdin, with its platform, allows us to help with these opensource projects.

A big thank you to riadd, the owner of “The Curious Expedition”; in a very short time, he has enabled me to work and check the @filippocrypto’s work on his project and some days after, when we finished and completed our work, he has even sent me a message like this:

thanks so much for your work on the Italian translation!

This can be seen as a small gesture, but for me it was a great and emotional experience; I was delighted when I read the message of appreciation, not only we are helping the open source community, but in some way, this experience allows us to raise our self-esteem.
