My Actifit RC: July 19th 23 - A check-up of the Naples's city centre - IAAC 408
A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
Life awakens in a thick cloud of heat in this exceptional heat wave of 2023. The silhouette of the spouses of the magma, namely Vesuvius and Mount Somma, can be seen just behind a curtain of dense humidity.
This morning I have to do the blood tests and I wake up very early to get to the Vesuvius clinic which is located 100m from home but I find closed due to a blackout and I am forced to go to the local health unit behind my block.
Taken the bus and made a long line since I arrived late I can do the blood tests and given the absence of means of transport I must return home on foot in the sun with a body not really fit. But can this affect the essence of my spirit #alive?
After I fed myself properly I went to the doctor to take stock of my check-up of the almost 50 years we are doing.
Once freed from other commitment I went to Naples and here we are in Piazza Cavour, another historic gateway to the old Neapolitan historic center.
Past the beautiful and monumental gate of San Gennaro I immersed myself in an alley perpendicular to the three Decumani.
In the end I arrived in front of the church of San Felice e Festo, my destination today, which I found unfortunately closed.
To get here I made a stop first at the church of San Lorenzo Maggiore historic gateway to the underground tunnels of Naples.
And then I passed through the legendary Via San Gregorio Armeno historic Neapolitan crib market where you can already buy everything you need for Christmas.
At this point I came back passing by the university.
In San Domenico's place the homonymous statue on the spire greeted the advent of the evening hours in the midst of a crystal blue sky.
The square is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful of the city and is very impressive and was once the hub of the city’s activity.
My journey today comes to an end and, passing through Piazza del Gesù, my approach to metro 1 begins, which will take me home from Piazza Dante.
While I observe for a last time that magnificent mosaic of monuments, historic buildings and churches that is the irregular shape of the square a seagull greets the friends of the #iamalivechallenge.
After our feathered friend celebrated the stage number 408 of my iamalivechallenge it’s up to me to join in the greetings stating that even today I am alive and I wish you all to be thrive.
