A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.

alt

Our adventure starts after lunch. Around 4:00, just as I was getting ready to go down, the city is swallowed up by a giant cloud in the shape of an alien spaceship.

alt

To amplify the mystery of the spectral atmosphere in front of you, from the cloud, emerges a dark hill never seen before, the result of an equally dark optical effect.

alt

The storm fortunately went inland although it produced a slight backhand on the outskirts of Naples.

alt

Absolutely ignoring the day not suitable for walks in the city I take the bus and I walk through the old town.

alt

Piazza Borsa, despite the rain, is full of tourists who are going to visit the city and I follow them with pleasure.

alt

An unforeseen moment, for my part, began to drain a huge amount of water so as to think that there was an open shower on my head. At this point I take refuge in the Church of the New Jesus.

alt

In this ecclesiastical building a huge number of religious services are celebrated but this time there was one in a side chapel and I was able to visit the immense masterpiece of Renaissance art undisturbed.

alt

In fact, although there are baroque and rococo features, the church is in the style that preceded them. You can see this from this wonderful altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

alt

The Church of the New Jesus, which was built in the palace that belonged to the princes of Sansevero, was created in various steps over the centuries thanks to the painstaking effort of the Jesuits who brought it to be an architecture of rare beauty.

alt

A particular mention deserve the dark green Calabrian marbles that can be seen on the altar form the staircase. They are very precious, elegant and they are of a type that no longer exists in the world.

alt

Moreover, piperno, the immortal volcanic rock that covers the particular facade of the church, is a material no longer marketed because the quarry from which it was extracted is competent exhausted.

alt

Today I noticed that the statue of San Giovanni Moscati, a Neapolitan doctor and scientist, has been polished again. It was really complicated to photograph it because, the chapel that houses his remains, was continuously visited by the faithful on pilgrimage.

alt

This gigantic fresco is by another talented Neapolitan artist, Francesco Solimena. It is dated 1725 and depicts the expulsion of Heliodorus from the temple. The message is clear, do not try to steal the treasure from the temple or you will be pursued by the angelic knights on horseback.

alt

The evening looms and again with a few gigantic drops falling from the sky I walk towards the station of Via Toledo passing through a shortcut in a square Charity besieged by bad weather.

alt

My #iamalivechallenge number 376 ends here in Piazza Garibaldi waiting for the bus that brings me #alive home in time to shop at the supermarket in just 5 minutes.

alt

Finally, I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of #Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next #actifit report.
