We always say money changed him or power changed him, but the truth is, money and power never change anyone. They only reveal who that person has always been.

Give a woman a little money and watch how she talks to a waiter.
Give a man a little power and watch how he talks to his driver.
That is his real character.

I have come to realize that money and power are like amplifiers.

If you are a kind person, money will make you kinder. You will help more people, feed more families, support more dreams.

If you are an arrogant person, money will make you unbearable. You will feel like everybody else is lazy and you worked harder than everyone.

If you are insecure, power will make you a tyrant. You will use it to intimidate people because you are afraid of being disrespected.

If you are secure, power will make you a protector. You will use it to open doors for others.

The sad truth about our society today is that we worship money and power so much.

We give front seats to the rich, even if they are not in order.
We give microphones to the powerful, even if they are lying.

And then we wonder why good people are afraid to lead.

But here is what life has taught me so far that money without character is a disaster waiting to happen.
Power without conscience is violence.

You can have all the money in the world and still be poor in peace, poor in love, poor in sleep.

You can have all the power in the world and still be powerless because you cannot command loyalty, you cannot command respect, you can only command fear and fear never lasts.

So while you are chasing money, chase wisdom too and while you are chasing power, chase humility too.

Because at the end of the day, when the money finishes and the power leaves the office, the only thing that will remain is who you were when you had them.

What do you think controls people more. Power or Money?

Let's talk in the comments.
