Next time I'm in the area I'll have a look and see if there is a plaque. Many of the larger trees in Worth Park Gardens have these plaques.

Yes, it can be just like a carpet in the woods. The wild garlic is also coming into flower. I know a woodland that has a carpet of white in early May when it is in full bloom.

It was great to get out in rhe sunshine again. It felt like full blown summer! 😁
