We have similar trees with purple flowers coming out before the leaves. There seems to be several different species of these trees. The seed pods can be long and slim or round like figs. Nice pictures!

It must be a little frustrating to live in a hot city with little green space. I do hope you have the opportunity to get out for at least a few minutes every day! !ALIVE
