Our weather is now improving, and the temperatures are rising nicely! This afternoon, I went for a short walk around the lake in Buchan Park. It was warm enough for short sleeves, and later this week, we could see highs of 27掳C.
Compared to another popular park, Tilgate, here in Crawley, Buchan Park is much quieter and is popular with dog walkers. There is even a dog dip area where pets can take a swim in the lake.
There are lots of nice views of the two main lakes and so quiet. There is a main road not far away, but I couldn't hear it at all, probably due to the woodland which surrounds this lake.
The architecture here is fascinating and has castlelated features around the perimeter. This park was part of a manor grounds before becoming swallowed up by the town borders.
The park also has some picknic areas with tables ready for anyone who has a packed lunch! 馃榿.
Fishermen can get a permit to fish here, and I have seen the odd fisherman on my travels through sometimes. It looks so peaceful and must be a pleasure to fish here.
